Sarah Turney

Sarah Turney received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Scranton. She credits her experience there for igniting her passion for therapy. Sarah then went on to attend Mercy College where she obtained her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. Sarah has experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, clinic, and private practice. She considers her style of therapy to be integrative; pulling from a collection of psychological theories, she tailors her approach to each individual client. She believes the client/therapist relationship is a partnership and the client is the expert in their own life. Sarah brings her authentic self to every session and prides herself on her ability to connect with others.

Shirley Gedney-Rubel

Shirley Gedney-Rubel, LPC

My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern New Hampshire and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport. I have about 10 years of experience working in urban agencies, substance abuse clinics, and private practice helping clients who have experienced trauma, substance abuse, and domestic violence as well as depression and anxiety. I believe each person is the “expert” on themselves and it is my job to help them find the tools that will work for them. My approach is holistic and includes evidence-based interventions including EMDR, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I approach each client with an open mind and an open heart and believe it is this human connection that fosters healing.
